SCinet '96 Information

Overview of SCinet '96

The networking component of the annual SUPERCOMPUTING conference increases in importance and complexity each year. SCinet, the on-site network designed and built especially for these conferences, vividly demonstrates the role that high-performance computing and communications technology have played and will continue to play in the development of what we commonly refer to as the information superhighway.

SC'96 will build on the networking activities of previous conferences, providing many venues and opportunities for attendees to participate and view communications technology "at work" on many platforms and applications.

For SC'96, the SCinet infrastructure full be a fully integrated network including the following components:

SCinet will also be providing networking infrastructure to selected meeting rooms, the Education Workshops, an email room and other areas as needed or requested.

In order to provide a stable network environment, SCinet has established deadlines for submitting requests for show floor connectivity. These deadlines can be found off the home page associated with each specific conference area.
