***Submissions
Deadline Extended to April 26 for Technical
Program***
If you’ve been putting off submitting content to the SC2004 technical
program, delay no more! Submission deadlines have been extended for ONE
WEEK
ONLY for technical papers, tutorials, panels, all SC Global categories
(including BOFs), and Gordon Bell Prize nominations. The new deadline
for
submissions is Monday, April 26. For more information on submission
categories
and how to submit, click on "Technical Program" from this web site.
Remember that submissions must be made through the submissions website
at <http://www.sc-submissions.org>.
*** Update on Research Exhibits ***
The booth selection process for research exhibitors will
begin in late spring. Research exhibitors should look for an email that
will
include a url for entering booth information and requesting network
connections, as well as information on selecting your booth. Prior
exhibitors
have been contacted to confirm booth size and contact information. New
exhibitors or any exhibitors who are not sure if they are on the
Research
Exhibits mailing list should send email to
<research-exhibits04@sc-conference.org>.
Up-to-date information will be posted at the website at
www.sc
conference.org/sc2004/research_exhibits.html
*** StorCloud
Challenge Submissions Due by April 26 ***
SC attendees interested in participating in the StorCloud
Challenge must submit an intent to participate by the April 26 extended
deadline. StorCloud will create a high performance computing storage
capability
to showcase HPC storage technologies, including topologies, devices,
and
interconnects. It will use state-of-the-art heterogeneous devices and
technology to build a virtual on-site “storage on request” area network
capability to support researchers and demonstrate high bandwidth
applications.
For more information, go to <http://www.sc-conference.org/sc2004/storcloud.html>
or send your questions to <storcloud04@sc-conference.org>.
*** Workshop
Proposals Due May 1 ***
Plans for SC2004 include a series of workshops that will
offer more interaction and more in-depth discussion of timely topics
than is
possible in the usual technical program sessions. The technical program
committee will choose a set of workshops to complement the overall
technical
program. If you have a workshop idea, send email by May 1 to
<workshops04@sc-conference.org>. All
proposals must include the topic and
proposed organization for the workshop. Workshops may be either
half-day
sessions (three hours), or full-day sessions (six hours). Conditional
acceptance of workshop proposals will be made by June 15.
*** Education
Program Teams Face May Deadline ***
Educators who plan to participate in SC2004 have until May
24 to submit their team applications. Teams of undergraduate faculty, K-12 teachers and directors and chief
information officers at university-based educational centers are
invited to
participate in the program, which is held over the first four days of
SC2004.
This year's theme is “A K-20 Comprehensive Educational Agenda for High
Performance Computing.” The Education program will consist of two
tracks: an
Instructional Track aimed at both newcomers and experienced
participants; and a
new Technology Integration Leadership track, aimed at higher education
Chief
Information Officers (CIOs) and directors of teaching and learning
centers. For
more information, see <http://www.sc-conference.org/sc2004/education.html>
or email <education04@sc-conference.org>.
