Conference Facilities

The new David L. Lawrence Convention Center was completed in September 2003 and brings an elegant, remarkably practical, and environmentally friendly structure to Pittsburgh’s riverfront. The facility is the first certified and largest ‘green’ convention center in the U.S. It holds a Gold LEED Rating from the U.S. Green Building Council and contains such features as natural ventilation, natural day lighting, water conservation and energy efficiency. Registering for the Conference
The conference registration desk is located in the 2nd floor concourse (outside the exhibit halls). Conference registration will be open the following hours:

Saturday November 6 1 pm – 6 pm
Sunday November 7 7:30 am – 8 pm
Monday November 8 7:30 am – 8 pm
Tuesday November 9 7:30 am – 5 pm
Wednesday November 10 7:30 am – 5 pm
Thursday November 11 7:30 am – 5 pm
Friday November 12 8 am – 11 am

The conference store is also located in the 2nd floor concourse. The store will be open the same hours as registration.

Email Access
In addition to the wireless network installed in the convention center by the SCinet team, conference attendees may access their email in the Email Room. The Email Room is located in Room 330, 3rd Level. Email Room hours are:

Sunday November 7: Noon to 6 pm
Monday November 8: 8 am to 6 pm
Tuesday November 9: 8 am to 6 pm
Wednesday November 10: 8 am to 6 pm
Thursday November 11: 8 am to 6 pm
Friday November 12: 8 am to Noon

Media Assistance
The SC2004 Media Room will be located in Show Office B. All media representatives are asked to check in at the Media Room upon arrival to have their credentials verified for registration. More information is available on the media information page at www.sc-conference.org/sc2004/news_media.html.

Parking
There a number of parking garages in the convention center area. View the map showing entrances to parking garages.

First Aid and Emergency Help
The First Aid Room is located behind Hall B in the concession stand area by the loading dock corridor. For emergencies in the convention center, contact security officer on duty.

Wheelchair Accessibility
The convention center has 10 wheelchairs for general use by attendees. Wheelchairs can not be reserved for full-time use, but will be distributed on a day-to-day basis on a first come, first served basis, unless an emergency situation arises. To receive a wheelchair, ask a security guard in the lobby. Attendees must submit their driver’s license to obtain a wheelchair for the day; the license will be returned when the attendee relinquishes the wheelchair.
