The undergraduate and graduate student volunteers are a mainstay of the
SC conference series. While meeting and interacting with leaders in high
performance computing, networking and storage, they assist with SCinet,
media relations, exhibit setup and a host of other functions. Read the
information below, and then consider applying to the SC2004 student
volunteer program!
Students interested in serving as volunteers for the Education Program
should check the block provided on the application form at the submissions web site.
So, what is SC2004?
SC2004 is this year’s event of an annual conference series that focuses
on the development and application of high-performance computing, networking
and storage technologies. This year’s conference will be Saturday, November 6,
through Friday, November 12, 2004, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
What is a student volunteer?
A student volunteer helps out with the administration of the conference in
exchange for free conference registration, housing, most meals, conference goodies and more.
We ask students to volunteer 20-25 hours of work during the conference.
You will interact with the conference organizers and presenters, and meet other
students from all over the world. It’s an opportunity to get involved with a great
conference while reducing expenses. It’s also not a bad item to have on your resume.
