Technical Programs Submissions Deadline Extended
to Friday, May 2
If you've been thinking of submitting content to the
SC2003 technical program, the Technical Program Committee
has decided to give you a little more time to get your
submission in! Submissions are now being accepted for
technical papers, Gordon Bell Prize nominations, all
SC Global categories, tutorials, posters, panels, and
Birds-of-a-Feather sessions that will require use of
the Access Grid. All submissions, with the exception
of panels, must be in by Friday, May 2. All the information
you need is available at the submissions website.
Research Exhibits Space and Networking Request Deadline
Pushed Back
There has been a change in the schedule for requesting
research exhibit space and network connections. The
original deadline was to be Friday, April 25, but applications
will now start being accepted on that date. Exhibitors
should have received a Research Exhibits Booth Application
form from the Research Exhibits committee earlier this
month. If not, the form can be downloaded from the website.
Booth costs have changed this year and networking requests
will cost a flat $1,500 each.
Panels Submissions Due June 1
SC panels offer the chance to present and discuss diverse
points of view on timely topics. The Technical Program
committee will choose a set of panels to complement
the overall technical program. The deadline for submitting
panel ideas is June 1. To submit a panel idea, go to
the SC2003 submissions site.
HPC Challenge Deadline Changed to
July 31
The deadline for submissions for the HPC Challenge Award
has been moved from May 30 to July 31. This year, the
HPC Challenge Awards will honor innovative uses of high-performance
computing resources in two categories: Innovative Data-Intensive
Application and Geographically Distributed Application.
The intent of the awards competition is to give contestants
the opportunity to showcase important high performance
computing applications and platforms. Submissions for
the challenge can be made on the SC2003 submissions
website.
Spread the Word about the SC2003 Education Program
If you know undergraduate faculty or middle or high
school teachers who would benefit from participating
in the SC2003 Education Program, the Education Committee
urges you to spread the word. Teams of faculty members
and teachers must apply for the program by May 30. Application
forms and instructions are available on the website.
The Education Program gives undergraduate faculty and
middle and high school science teachers the chance to
learn about computational tools, such as modeling and
visualization software, and to incorporate those tools
into their classroom curricula.
Conference Seeks Student Volunteers
Undergraduate and graduate student volunteers are needed
for SC2003. Student volunteers help with the administration
of the conference in exchange for free conference registration,
housing, most meals, conference goodies, and more. The
volunteers interact with the conference organizers and
presenters and meet other students from all over the
world. It is an opportunity to learn about the latest
high-performance networking and computing technology
and meet leading researchers from around the world.
Best of all, it looks good on a resume.
A student volunteer registration form is available on
the website.
The application deadline is September 30.
